Substitute Support

What You’ll Do

• Substitute Cook: Prepare and serve meals according to rules and regulations developed by the Food Section of the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). Perform kitchen clean-up duties. Follow required health standards of local Department of Health.
• Custodial Worker: Clean and maintain building in accordance with established cleanliness standards. Safely operate custodial equipment and maintain it appropriately. Maintain an orderly and safe building and grounds. Demonstrate effective safety skills with student, equipment, environments, etc. Safely use cleaning supplies and maintain them appropriately.
• School Office Assistant: Type using a computer keyboard with computer competency in Microsoft Office (Word, Access and Outlook). Maintain moderately complex databases to provide service and accurate information for management. Review documents and reports to ensure work product meets established standards. Assist staff with completing forms in order to provide service. Open, sort, process and distribute mail. Answer telephone, take messages and route calls efficiently. Greet and welcome visitors, determine nature of business and conduct visitors to appropriate person. Order and inventory supplies.
• Teacher Aide: Assist the classroom teacher in carrying out the individual student instructional program as directed by the teacher. Follow behavior support plans of individual students. Accommodate for each student’s individual communication needs. Supervise students during off-campus instruction. Perform the daily self-care needs of students (e.g., diapering, feeding, hand washing, tooth brushing etc.). Follow student specific special health care procedures as trained by the school nurse. Assist with arrival/dismissal transfer of students to/from bus and classroom.

High School Diploma or GED

Experience working with individuals with severe disabilities is preferred.
