Substitute (SUB) Direct Support Professional/Caregiver
Responsibilities
- Plan and teach recreational activities
- Teach activities of daily living
- Provide personal care services
- Support community integration for adults with developmental disabilities
- Perform other duties such as transporting clients, completing and maintaining accurate reports, and maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Handle challenging situations with sound decision-making
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting organizational standards
- Ability to complete and maintain required training in accordance with organizational, County, State, and Federal regulations
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, reaching, and bending

- Ability to read, write, and understand documents.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Problem-solving ability with a variety of variables in standardized situations.
- Interpretation and following through on instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license with a driving record meeting the standards set forth by the organization and valid vehicle insurance.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform tasks requiring standing, walking, reaching, and bending.
