Substitute Preschool Teacher

About the role

The Substitute Preschool Teacher supports early childhood education programs across the country, focusing on children aged 3 to 4 years old. This position works collaboratively with another teacher to manage a classroom of up to 20 children.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences to enhance children's intellectual and physical development, including literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills.
• Maintains a safe and healthy learning environment, adhering to the required adult-child ratio and supervising children at all times.
• Supports the social and emotional development of children through positive guidance techniques and encourages family involvement.
• Works effectively with other teachers in the classroom and center, following Acelero Learning policies and procedures.
• Communicates proactively with the Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist regarding schedule changes.
• Participates in assigned meetings, events, and training sessions.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• A physical exam and background check are required for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience in early childhood education is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
