Substitute Preschool Teacher

About the role

The Substitute Preschool Teacher supports early childhood education programs across the country, focusing on children aged 3 to 4 years old. This position works collaboratively with another teacher to manage a classroom with up to 20 children.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences to enhance children’s intellectual and physical development, including literacy, phonemic awareness, numeracy, language skills, and problem-solving.
• Maintains a safe, healthy learning environment, ensuring the correct adult-to-child ratio and proper supervision.
• Supports the social and emotional development of children using positive guidance techniques.
• Encourages family involvement in the Head Start program and fosters relationships between children and their families.
• Works effectively with other teachers in the assigned classroom and center.
• Fulfills all Acelero Learning policies and procedures regarding health, safety, nutrition, and center operations.
• Reports to work on time and communicates any schedule changes to the Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist.
• Attends assigned meetings, events, and training sessions as required.

Requirements

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Physical exams and background checks are mandatory for this position.
