Substitute Preschool Teacher

About the role

The Substitute Preschool Teacher supports early childhood education programs across the country, focusing on children aged 3 to 4 years old. This position works collaboratively with another teacher to manage a classroom of up to 20 children.

Responsibilities

• Follows the curriculum as scheduled during coverage.
• Plans and implements learning experiences to enhance children's intellectual and physical development, including literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional skills.
• Maintains a safe, healthy learning environment, ensuring proper adult-to-child ratios and supervision.
• Supports the social and emotional development of children through positive guidance techniques.
• Encourages family involvement in the Head Start program and fosters positive relationships between children and their families.
• Works effectively with other teachers in the assigned classroom and center.
• Fulfills all Acelero Learning policies and procedures related to health, safety, nutrition, and center operations.
• Communicates promptly with the Center Director and Early Learning/Disabilities Specialist regarding schedule changes.
• Participates in assigned meetings, events, and training sessions.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Physical exams and background checks are mandatory for this position.
