The Substitute Application (Teachers) reports directly to the Building Principal.
About the role
Directs classroom instruction, develops lesson plans and instructional materials, organizes classroom, establishes classroom rules and regulations, manages instructional time, monitors student performance, evaluates student academic growth, maintains accurate records, communicates with parents, treats students fairly, pursues professional development, and adheres to policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Develops lesson plans and instructional materials.
- Organizes classroom in a manner to optimize teaching and learning.
- Establishes classroom rules and regulations.
- Maintains discipline of students.
- Monitors student performance.
- Evaluates student academic growth.
- Maintains accurate records.
- Communicates with parents.
- Treats students fairly.
- Pursues professional development.
- Adheres to policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Completed at least 60 credit hours of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an associate's (or higher) degree.
- Valid Missouri Teacher Certification and/or appropriate Missouri Certification for academic field.
- Graduate degree and experience, preferred.
- A valid Missouri teaching certificate and complete transcript(s) of college credit must be on file for each teacher before the beginning of each new school year.
- Possess positive character traits that are student-centered.
- Possess ability to interact and communicate effectively with others.
Qualifications
- Education: Completed at least 60 credit hours of study at an institution of higher education; or obtained an associate's (or higher) degree.
- Certification: Valid Missouri Teacher Certification and/or appropriate Missouri Certification for academic field.
- Experience: Graduate degree and experience, preferred.
