Substation Design (PE) Project Manager
About the role
The Substation Project Manager will oversee the execution and management of substation engineering projects, from scope development to project closeout. They will lead the QA/QC process on EPC projects and ensure world-class quality. Responsibilities include coordinating project teams, managing budgets and schedules, and leading client interactions.
Responsibilities
- Execute and manage all aspects of substation engineering projects of various sizes and complexities
- Develop and manage project scopes, proposals, and budgets
- Coordinate project teams, including engineers, technicians, and non-engineering specialists
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and quality control
- Oversee public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition processes
- Engage in business development activities to support existing and new clients
- Lead and mentor a team of engineers and technicians
- Represent HDR in client meetings and support proposal development
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Minimum 7 years related experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Master's degree preferred
- PMP certification preferred
- Experience with distribution, transmission line, communication, and system projection and planning projects
- Experience with public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition
