About the role
The Substation Project Manager will lead the execution and management of substation engineering projects, from scope development to project closeout. They will coordinate project teams, manage budgets and schedules, and ensure high-quality deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Execute and manage all aspects of substation engineering projects of various sizes and complexities.
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Manage project risks and ensure compliance with contract terms.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other team members.
- Oversee public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition processes.
- Lead the Quality Assurance/Quality Control process on Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.
- Represent HDR in business development activities and support the growth of the local team.
- Perform client management, project management, and technical support activities.
- Travel for business development and project execution may be required.
Requirements
- Master's degree preferred
- PMP certification
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 7+ years of related experience
- Minimum 2 years of project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- MS Office and MS Project experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills
Qualifications
- Experience with distribution, transmission line, communication, and system projection and planning projects.
- Public involvement, environmental permitting, and real estate acquisition experience.
- Strong understanding of project management tools and techniques.
- Ability to lead and mentor a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay
Range: $128,128.00 - $191,360.00 (California), $116,480.00 - $191,360.00 (Nevada)
