Substance Abuse Counselor (Master's degree and hold any of IN certification listed on the requirements)

Essential Functions

• Work with patients to complete intakes, admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork.
• Document patient progress through counseling and interaction through groups.
• Complete patient psychosocial and an individualized treatment plan within the required time frame.
• Identify any clinical/case management needs and work to address those needs.
• Perform individual, group, and family counseling as required.
• Perform at least 20 hours of direct one-on-one patient contact per week through individual and/or group counseling sessions.
• Educate patients in all aspects of treatment, corresponding health issues and steps to recovery.
• Obtain Urine Drug Screens and initial patient photo identification.

Essential Qualifications

• Education/Licensure/Certification: Qualified candidates must have a Master’s degree in Human Services or a related field of study. You must also have at least one (1) of the following: Addiction Consultant in Training (ACIT) II w/ Medication Assisted Treatment Specialist (MATS), Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) II, Certified Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (CADAC) IV, Indiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) I, Indiana Certified Addiction Counselor (ICAC) II, Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), National Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC) I, National Certified Addiction Counselor (NCAC) III, National Certified Adolescent Addictions Counselor (NCAAC).
• Experience Required: Experience in the substance abuse field is preferred, but not required.
