The Subrogation Adjuster primarily reviews demands from other parties, files and responds to arbitration disputes, and may hear cases as needed. The role also involves:
- Reviewing demands for validity, completeness, and subrogation implications
- Filing and responding to arbitration filings; preparing necessary documentation and arguments
- Hearing cases as required by participating in arbitration hearings
- Reviewing claim files to identify, evaluate, analyze, and interpret subrogation potential
- Coordination of appropriate steps to secure evidence and ensure pursuit, development, and recovery of claims
- Evaluation of documentary evidence, recording and processing all recovery payments, issuing payments for subrogation expenses, and ensuring policyholders are reimbursed deductible amounts upon recovery
- Maintaining accurate subrogation files and diaries across multiple Tesla Insurance Claims systems while responding to routine and complex subrogation inquiries via telephone and email in accordance with company guidelines and regulations
Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Strong knowledge of personal lines products, including Property and Casualty and personal umbrella products
- Familiarity with property-related principles, practices, processes, and terminology
- Knowledge of arbitration processes and procedures
- Proficiency in business writing, grammar, punctuation, and professional telephone and email etiquette
- Proficiency in standard business software and web-based applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and internet browsers
- Property and Casualty (P&C) adjuster’s license in the state of domicile, plus non-resident adjuster’s licenses in all other states where required—or the ability to obtain them within 60 days of starting
