Responsibilities
- Cook up with the Section Manager to appraise, design, and test architecture designs and services from the roadmap backlog
- Take charge of the transition of user approved designs and services to the Operations and Security Teams
- Give subject matter expertise in the relevant architecture area
Network Architecture Section Responsibilities
- Strategically plot, architect, design, build, test, install, modernize, and improve the functional abilities, capacity, and performance of the NIH Network and TIC Services in line with NIH future state architecture objectives
- Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain software and hardware
- Collaborate with the Security Section to meet security architecture requirements
- Maintain technical architecture documentation
- Diagnose and resolve issues and problems
- Manage change management
- Support resources responsible for security implementation, monitoring, maintenance, and vulnerability remediation
- Conduct strategic and transformative planning for network architecture services
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related discipline and have at least one of the Cisco CCIE certifications, both the written and practical
- Within each of the Cisco Certifications, the following specializations are needed and listed in order of importance: Routing and Switching, Service Provider, Data Center, and Wireless
- Experience required is 8‐plus years in Network Services and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related discipline
