We’re seeking a seasoned Network Architect to design, deploy, and secure enterprise-wide networks that enable the Department of Defense (DoD) to achieve its missions. Your expertise will help shape infrastructure that adapts to evolving needs and emerging threats, ensuring mission-critical systems remain secure, reliable, and available.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine enterprise-wide network infrastructure designs for DoD hybrid environments, incorporating Zero Trust principles.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring high availability and performance for mission-critical systems.
  • Analyze existing network infrastructures to identify opportunities for increased security, reliability, and modernization.
  • Implement and configure network segmentation and micro-segmentation solutions, including Software-Defined Networking (SDN), container networking, and virtualization platforms.
  • Design and architect enterprise network and cybersecurity solutions, aligning with DoD standards and Zero Trust initiatives.
  • Document complex network and security architectures, procedures, and troubleshooting workflows, including Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) implementations.
  • Optimize client operations by applying expertise in routing and switching, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocols, and virtual routing and forwarding.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on mission-critical projects, leveraging experience with software/hardware firewalls, Cisco/Palo Alto/Juniper hardware, and optical infrastructure networking.
  • Support defense programs and mission requirements, including classified networks and Zero Trust architectures.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience designing, deploying, and supporting network and security architectures within DoD hybrid environments, including Zero Trust principles.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing and configuring network segmentation and micro-segmentation solutions (SDN, container networking, virtualization).
  • 5+ years of experience documenting complex network/security architectures, procedures, and troubleshooting workflows (ZTNA implementations).
  • Experience designing and architecting enterprise network and cybersecurity solutions in DoD hybrid environments.
  • Experience supporting defense programs, standards, or mission requirements, including Zero Trust initiatives.
  • Experience working with secret classified networks and their unique security challenges within a ZTNA model.
  • Knowledge of DoD security standards, compliance requirements, and Identity and Access Management (IAM) principles (MFA, PAM, ABAC).
  • Active Secret clearance (or ability to obtain one).
  • HS diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting and operating DoD networks.
  • Experience deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multi-vendor network/security platforms (Palo Alto, Cisco, Juniper, Dell, HPE, VMware).
  • Experience administering Linux/Unix or Windows systems in enterprise/tactical environments.
  • Experience applying STIGs and performing system security hardening.
  • Experience with commercial and DoD cloud networks.
  • Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, VMware, JNCIA, or JNCP.

Pay

Salary range: $77,600–$176,000 (annualized USD), determined by location, education, skills, experience, and organizational requirements.

Schedule

  • Remote: Primarily virtual with occasional in-person work at Booz Allen or customer facilities.
  • Hybrid: Frequent onsite work at Booz Allen or customer facilities, per role needs.
  • Onsite: Work primarily performed at Booz Allen or customer facilities.

Virtual employees are generally expected to have cameras on during meetings to support engagement and collaboration.
