About the Role
Assists the PMO in updating project plan data points, including manually inputting actual hours charged against projects. Performs “schedule reviews” to ensure project plans adhere to PMO standards and practices. Assists in monitoring and tracking various project data points, including updating and maintaining existing logs that track project change requests, project charters, project close summary reports, and other project documentation.
Requirements
- 5 to 7+ years of current project management experience delivering IT projects.
- 3 to 5+ years of current experience using MS Project; either to build standalone project plans or in a Project Server collaborative environment.
- Project Server experience preferred.
- Successfully delivered IT projects from start to finish.
- Familiar with or has used effort-driven project planning techniques in MS Project.
- Familiar with MS Project’s schedule engine logic (how MS Project calculates duration, effort, and resources assigned to a task).
- Demonstrates high-level capability in all project management competencies, including planning, executing, monitoring, and controlling IT projects.
- Experience managing vendors, requesting, and executing SOWs.
- Demonstrates a personal sense of urgency to complete day-to-day work, driving for results from self and project team members. Knows when to push back on perceived limitations and when to be flexible.
- Exercises strong leadership capabilities; presents executive presence, especially when delivering difficult messages to stakeholders and leaders. Remains calm and collected under pressure and takes accountability for entire project outcomes.
- Demonstrates strong customer focus; is responsive, consultative, collaborative, and accurate in work approach. Considers project impacts and outcomes from the business (customer’s) perspective.
- Experience directly managing and forecasting project financials, reconciling invoices, timekeeping, etc.
- Able to create clear, concise messaging for all organizational levels.
- Exercises sound judgment, making informed, successful decisions from a set of complex options.
- Willing to develop a technical understanding of the systems involved and comprehend data flow and high-level technical architecture.
- Open to learning and using new project management tools as required.
