Job Summary

There are three modern and spacious independent living salons at John Knox Village that offer high-end salon services including manicures and pedicures. Enjoy a built-in clientele while earning competitive commission plus tips. Evenings and weekends are a thing of the past. Essential Job Functions

• Performs a variety of salon services including shampoos, roller sets, cuts, perms and color treatments.
• Works with Manager of Salon Services to promote individual and collective salon services.
• Supports the Village's mission, values, and service/hospitality (PRIDE) expectations.
• Completes training as required by policy.

Essential Qualifications

• High school education or general education degree (GED) required.
• Current Missouri cosmetologist license is required.
• Previous experience working with seniors and doing sets on hair preferred.
• One year hair cutting/styling experience required.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and customer service skills.
• Ability to write simple sentences, paragraphs and correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Special Working Conditions

• Work is performed in indoor settings.
• Expected to work on Saturdays.
• All associates may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.

Physical and Mental Demands

• Light Work – Exerting up to 20 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
• Moves about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
• Must be able to speak and hear.
• Must be able to function around individuals with challenged mental capacities.

• Receives direction from Manager of Salon Services.
