Study Course | Drawings in Theory and Practice
We are pleased to announce our 8th annual study course on drawings, designed for doctoral students and early post-doc researchers working in the field of drawings and prints who are interested in exploring curatorial practices.
About the course
The course offers the opportunity to discuss current research on the graphic arts and gain insight into one of the most renowned collections of prints and drawings. It is organized jointly by the Institute of Art History at the University of Vienna and the Albertina, and is generously supported by the Wolfgang Ratjen Foundation.
Responsibilities
- Present aspects of your current research in a 30-minute paper
- Discuss relevant drawings in the Albertina
- Gain insight into different curatorial practices, including:
- Conception and planning of exhibitions
- Publication of catalogues
- Conservation and marketing
- Collecting and provenance research
Requirements
- Doctoral students or early post-doc researchers working in the field of drawings and prints
- Application must include:
- A CV
- A short description of your drawing or print-related research project
- A reference letter from a university professor

Languages
The general course language is English. Individual papers can also be presented in German, Italian, or French.
