About the role

The Lead Student Worker supervises, trains, and manages the food operation, ensuring appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served.

Responsibilities

  • Produce and maintain work schedules and prepare production records.
  • Direct daily activities and maintain food production that ensures safety and quality according to policies, procedures, and department requirements.
  • Ensure food items are stored in a safe, organized, and hazard-free environment.
  • Maintain all serving schedules; ensure food items are served per menu specifications following department policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a sanitary department following health and safety codes and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate weekly inventory and prepare orders as needed.
  • Supervise and evaluate employees; counsel and promote employee growth, efficiency, morale, and teamwork.
  • Maintain a safe and hazard-free working environment.
  • Train and mentor other food service workers.
  • Maintain logs on all maintenance required for department equipment and perform preventative maintenance.
  • Recommend replacement of existing equipment to meet facility needs.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Food Service Director or Manager.
  • Fill in for absent employees at the location as necessary.
  • Maintain knowledge of daily catering events and confirm timely preparation and delivery.
  • Attend food service meetings with staff and maintain communication with staff through various channels.
  • Perform cashier duties as needed.
  • Promote good public relations.
  • Work occasional night and weekend catered events.

Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice to meet commitments.

Requirements

  • Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions.
  • Must complete a sanitation course either before or during the first year.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
  • Maintain emotional control under stress.
  • Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient, cost-effective program.
  • Ability to resolve interpersonal situations.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be a student at the Aramark location.
