About the role

The Student Technical Support Coordinator reports to the Director of Educational Technology and supports university students through various technical tasks. This position also involves coordinating and assisting the Student Technical Support Team, training them, and resolving complex issues.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support including computer repair, software installation, and network connectivity.
  • Aid students in connecting streaming or gaming devices.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to other technology experts.
  • Train student employees to perform the same duties.
  • Represent the Office of Information Technology at student orientations and move-ins.
  • Support students via email, chat, phone, and in person.

Requirements

  • Experience with MacOS/iOS/Windows/Android required.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred with 3-4 years of directly related experience in a Higher Education environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to act as a liaison between students and other offices of the University.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years in general computer repair and software installation.
  • Some familiarity with wireless networks and integration.
  • Willingness and ability to learn new technologies.
  • MacOS/iOS/Windows/Android proficiency.
  • Some knowledge in Linux preferred.
