About the role
The Student Support Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting the academic and social-emotional needs of students within the Holyoke Public Schools district. Reporting to the Dean of Students, this position works closely with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to students experiencing academic challenges, behavioral issues, or emotional distress.
- Coordinate referrals to external services such as counseling, mental health providers, and family support services.
- Develop and implement strategies to improve student attendance and engagement.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to develop and implement interventions based on individual student needs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide initiatives aimed at promoting student well-being and academic success.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of student interactions and progress.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Dean of Students and other relevant staff to discuss student concerns and progress.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- At least two years of experience working with students in a K-12 educational setting.
- Experience in providing direct support to students and coordinating with external service providers.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with data management systems.

Pay
