Student Support Classroom Paraprofessional

About the Role

Amherst Middle School is seeking a paraprofessional to provide full-time support services to students. An ideal candidate will provide instructional support, manage student behaviors, collect accurate data, collaborate with colleagues, accept feedback, communicate clearly in writing and in conversation, maintain confidentiality and professionalism, and have a willingness to learn.

This is a school-year position with daily hours approximately 8:00 AM – 3:45 PM.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to students one-on-one and in groups
• Manage student behaviors
• Collect accurate data
• Collaborate with colleagues and accept feedback
• Communicate clearly in writing and conversation
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism

Requirements

• Belief that all individuals can learn and deserve every opportunity to be involved in their community school
• Ability to work with students one-on-one and in groups
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, listen to feedback, and adapt approaches as directed
• High School Diploma (required); College degree and/or paraprofessional certification (preferred)
• Excellent communication skills, strong organization, reliability, and independence
• Willingness to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues, and the community
