About the role
The Classroom Paraprofessional at Lincoln Montessori assists the teacher in providing education and instruction to students.
Responsibilities
- Performs clerical duties such as attendance reports, typing, filing, and handling routine interruptions such as notes, messages and deliveries
- Performs supervisory duties, such as lunchroom, playground, halls and classroom
- Typing, drawing, writing and duplicating instructional materials
- Prepares bulletin boards, graphs and charts
- Assembles materials as directed
- Checks papers, workbooks, homework and tests as directed
- Helps in the care and cleanliness of the room
- Reads to students, listens to students read
- Helps students with make-up work
- Aids in individual or group activities: games, flash cards, etc.
- P Practices skill drills to reinforce concepts and learning targets
- Alerts teacher to needs of students
- Aids in checking progress of individualized study projects
- Aids in inventory of supplies and equipment
- Aids in field trips
- Makes educational games and aids
- Aids when emergencies arise
- Performs any other delegated non-instructional responsibility assigned by teacher or administrator
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information in accordance with HIPAA regulations
- Supports an orderly and productive learning environment
- Follows and supports district protocols and procedures
Requirements
- High school graduate
- Some college preferred
- Successful completion of district background check
- Effective communicator (both orally and in writing)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Good time management / organizational skills
Qualifications
- Consistent and punctual “on site” attendance at the worksite is an essential job function
