About the role

The UNT Career Center supports career development for all students and alumni. The Student Services Coordinator (Career Coach) will serve as the primary career advisor for College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) students, providing one‑on‑one coaching, career‑readiness instruction, workshops, presentations, and event planning to promote networking, internships, and job searches.

Location: Denton, TX

Responsibilities

  • Interface with students seeking guidance on employment, career development, internships, and related issues.
  • Analyze students' career paths, conduct assessments, advise on resume development, interview preparation, and provide job‑search resources.
  • Develop and deliver workshops and seminars, assess their effectiveness, and make improvements to enhance student workplace preparedness, including UCRS 2100 career courses.
  • Build and maintain relationships with faculty, staff, and administration within the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences.
  • Collaborate with faculty and the Career Center Employer Services Team to expand employer and alumni engagement on campus.
  • Prepare statistical reports on student engagement and programming for data collection purposes.
  • Assist staff with event program management as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • At least two years of experience in student services, student affairs, counseling, advising, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Excellent public speaking and workshop facilitation skills.
  • Ability to provide leadership and mentoring to student populations.
  • Strong networking abilities across departments and programs.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Counseling.
  • Two years of experience in career services or career counseling related to liberal arts disciplines.

Physical Requirements

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.

Pay

$47,232.00 per year (full‑time, FTE 1.0)

Schedule

Monday – Friday, 8 am – 5 pm; evenings and weekends as necessary.
