Student Service Advisor (Limited)

About the role

The University of California, Merced is seeking a Student Service Advisor to support New Student Orientation. This is a temporary, union-represented position.

Responsibilities

• Assists New Student Orientation professional staff with recruitment and planning efforts for Orientation.
• Manages registration processes and tracking (in-line with move-in processes).
• Develops master timelines for facilities, work orders, and permits.
• Collaborates in coordinating space reservations and room setup.
• Plans and executes information fairs.
• Aids students, parents, and guests with Orientation registration questions and issues.
• Updates the Banner system with Orientation cancellations and no-shows.
• Serves as a co-supervisor for Orientation Logistics Leaders Student Staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited institution.
• Basic knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
• Basic knowledge of UC Merced programs and policies (preferred).
• Effective communication skills (oral and written).
• Interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
• Basic understanding and experience managing websites and social media (preferred).

Pay

The hourly range the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $22.32 - 27.40.
