Description
A typical tasks for Level IV Student Interns include:
- Learning Agency's or Department's policies, procedures, and methods of operations
- Collecting and tabulating data
- Evaluating information gained in accordance with established policies and procedures
- Assisting professional staff in ongoing project work
- Assuming responsibility for preliminary studies, analysis, and recommendations on systems, devices, machines, and procedures
Important Note
The application is reviewed on an as-needed basis. After six months, the application is inactivated but can be re-activated if additional information is required or the applicant is accepted into the program.
Duties
Students can advance in both level and pay based on education and operational needs. The program nurtures the educational and professional development of promising job candidates, enhancing the County's image among students and encouraging future applications.
Employment Standards
- Must have a legal right to work in the United States
- Must be enrolled in an accredited institution or have graduated within the last six months
- Must have an overall grade point average of at least 2.5 on a four-point scale
- Must submit a completed application for employment, unofficial transcript, and proof of enrollment or course schedule
Special Requirements
- High school students under 18 years old must obtain a work permit
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Knowledge of common computer systems and applications
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to travel to alternate locations as needed
- Ability to drive and possess a valid California driver’s license
- Pass a background check and physical exam if required
