About the role

Mental Health Cooperative, Inc. (MHC) is a rare and special place where outstanding company culture is intentional. Clients and associates are treated the same, as equals. MHC was formed in 1993 to serve individuals with severe and persistent mental illness. We have expanded our services to children and adolescents with severe emotional disorders across Middle and East Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Carry a small case load and provide point of care and psychotherapy to clients of various ages.
• Utilize therapeutic modalities such as TF-CBT, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, CBT, DBT, and play therapy in individual therapy sessions.
• Play a role in the client's treatment team with other departments throughout the agency.
• Participate in additional learning and training opportunities.

Requirements

• Master’s level students in a social work, counseling, or psychology program.
• A two-semester commitment required.
• MHC can accommodate up to 5 interns in the Therapy department.
