Salary

The annual salary for this position ranges from $37,600 to $42,799. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s relevant experience and qualifications.

Purpose of Position

Demonstrate a high degree of initiative and professional judgment in responding to the individual needs of students while applying Title IV regulations, state requirements, and institutional policies to financial aid offers. Depending on assigned team, this position must exercise advanced professional judgment in evaluating Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP), Cost of Attendance (COA) adjustments for regular and study abroad enrollment, award revisions, work-study eligibility, scholarship, state grant, and Title IV financial aid eligibility determinations. Review and resolve federal caution flags using complex financial aid systems, including NSLDS, COD, and PeopleSoft. Provide comprehensive counseling to students, parents, families, and internal and external stakeholders regarding financial aid programs, eligibility, and available resources. Perform work that supports internal teams that contribute to student success and to the university's enrollment and retention goals.

Essential Functions

  • Review financial aid appeals and documents, and adjust financial aid offers based on established university guidelines and federal regulations.
  • Rewire financial aid offers to reflect student enrollment plans, and addition of outside or other financial aid received including award clean up each semester.
  • Review assigned reports weekly and adjust student awards as needed.
  • Aid in writing and updating assigned procedural documents.
  • Aid students and families in person through scheduled appointments, at the front counter, over the phone and respond to email.
  • Review and perform financial aid budget adjustment requests within federal and institutional policy.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience in student financial aid, or related area in a post-secondary institution OR six (6) years of an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or other similar student information systems.
