Responsibilities
- Develops and administers budgets and financial systems
- Projects revenue, space and facility planning, grants management, regulatory compliance
- Makes decisions regarding the reporting and use of financial resources
- Provides financial guidance to assigned staff and appropriate University personnel
- Coordinates integration with University accounting system
- May oversee billing and collections operations, including third party reimbursement and direct patient billing for some units
- May manage revenue producing activity
- May manage the entire or parts of the accounting function for assigned unit
- Serves as a communication liaison with internal and external resources
- Plans and carries out special assignments related to the success of assigned Pediatrics divisions
- Prepares activity reports for assigned divisions
- Responsible for adherence to program budgets
- Gathers data for quality assurance and long term financial planning for programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or a related field
- Five (5) years of related experience
Qualifications
- Knowledge of the fundamentals concepts, practices and procedures particular to accounting, financial analysis, budgetary processes and grants management
- Ability to analyze gross expenditures and provide deadline sensitive reports and journal entries
- Collaborates with other department employees to develop financial reports
- Manages active grants in assigned divisions to include monthly accounting reports re: financial liabilities
- Covers pre/post award related issues
- Manages and reconciles divisional grant and general ledger accounts on a monthly basis as well as some Departmental accounts
