Student Employee - HR Clerk

About the role

The Student Employee provides administrative and customer service support to the Human Resources Office.

Responsibilities

• Assist employees, students, visitors, and applicants in person, by phone, and through email correspondence.
• Prepare materials for new employee orientation and benefits open enrollment.
• Perform data entry and HR records management functions.
• Scan, index, and file documents.
• Maintain accurate and confidential HR records in accordance with college policies.
• Assist with HR projects and special assignments.
• Support the review and update of position descriptions.
• Assist with job openings.
• Conduct research on HR best practices.
• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Strong customer service skills; previous customer service experience is preferred.
• Previous experience working in an office or professional environment is preferred.
• Ability to work independently to complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Exercise sound judgment and make appropriate decisions within established procedures.
• Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive and personal information.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to interact professionally and courteously with students, employees, and the public.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ideally pursuing a business-related degree.

Pay

$13.30 per hour.

Schedule

Part-time; hours vary based upon departmental needs and student availability.
