Student Counselor (TCAT)

About the role

Work as an advisor for students interested in and/or currently enrolled in a TCAT program. Perform outreach to local agencies and schools to inform and educate about TCAT programs and processes. Guide students through the admissions, financial aid, and registration processes. Plan and carry out student-related college events.

Responsibilities

• Organize or assist with TCAT events such as TCAT Commencement Ceremonies, Grad Finale, National Signing Day, and TCAT Open House.
• Coordinate the nominations, interviews, and selection of the student for the Statewide Outstanding Achievement Recognition (SOAR) Awards.
• Represent TCAT at potential recruiting events and organize or help organize TCAT Open House.
• Conduct TCAT tours with prospective students or visiting groups.
• Advise students and families through the admissions, financial aid, and registration processes.
• Provide excellent customer service to all prospective and enrolled students.
• Actively support and participate in campus recruitment and retention efforts.
• Utilize each interaction with students to help them gain a better understanding of the opportunities and resources available to them.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 3 years full-time experience in higher education
