Student-Athlete Success Specialist

About the role

The Student Athlete Success Specialist is responsible for maintaining a caseload of students-athletes to enhance academic strategy development and support student success. The role encourages achievement of goals through self-assessment, reflection, and connection to campus and community resources with a goal of graduation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of students-athletes to enhance academic strategy development and support student success.
• Encourage achievement of goals through self-assessment, reflection, and connection to campus and community resources with a goal of graduation.
• Perform other functionally related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferably in social work, psychology, counseling, and education.
• One (1) year of experience in academic support services in an educational or non-profit setting.
• Experience can be in advising, mentoring, tutoring, student programming, or student services.
• Ability to work evenings and weekends as assigned.
• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, education, or related field preferred.
• One (1) year experience in higher education retention programs preferred.
• Experience using an online student engagement system preferred.
