About the role

This position facilitates workshops and group tutoring sessions, supports student engagement and retention initiatives, and collaborates with faculty and staff to promote student success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide student centered tutoring in one-on-one and group settings across in-person, online, or hybrid environments.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records to document tutoring services provided and activities conducted.
  • Support students from diverse backgrounds and learning levels in academic content, study strategies, and executive function skills (e.g., time management, test-taking, study skills).
  • Aid students with academic technologies, including word processing, presentation tools, course management systems, and computer access issues (usernames, passwords, etc).
  • Develop and deliver supplemental instruction, review sessions, and bridge programming to students in collaboration with academic departments and faculty.
  • Serve as a test proctor as requested.
  • Identify and refer at-risk students and support retention initiatives in collaboration with appropriate personnel.
  • Create promotional materials, handouts, and study aids for students.
  • Assist students with library resources and research tools; facilitate the onsite checkout of library materials and technology equipment to support academic success.
  • Assist with the implementation of adaptive technology, software and equipment as needed in the Student Success Center; provide adaptive technology training and assistance for students with disabilities.
  • Monitor activity throughout the Rolla Student Success Center to help ensure a professional and student-focused learning environment.
  • Perform assigned responsibilities, duties, and tasks according to established practices, procedures, techniques, and standards in a safe manner and with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

  • Completion of an Associate Degree; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • Tutoring experience preferred.

Pay

$19.73 – $26.69 per hour. While the full salary range is provided for growth potential, most new hires are initially placed within the lower portion of the range based on experience and institutional compensation guidelines.
