Student-Athlete Academic Adviser
About the role
The Assistant Director or Academic Adviser is a valuable member of the Morgan Academic Center (MAC) team and will directly report to the Senior Associate Director of the MAC. Primary responsibilities include coordinating academic support and counseling services for women’s basketball team and additional assigned sports teams, tracking and monitoring student-athlete academic progress and eligibility, communicating student-athlete academic progress to coaching staff, athletic administration, and MAC Director, teaching one section of the student-athlete first-year seminar course, supervising, training, and evaluating part-time wage payroll staff, meeting with prospective student-athletes and families, and performing additional duties as assigned by the Director and Sr. Associate Director.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate academic support and counseling services for women’s basketball team and additional assigned sports teams
- Track and monitor student-athlete academic progress and eligibility
- Communicate student-athlete academic progress to coaching staff, athletic administration, and MAC Director
- Teach one section of the student-athlete first-year seminar course
- Supervise, train, and evaluate part-time wage payroll staff
- Meet with prospective student-athletes and families, as required
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director and Sr. Associate Director
Requirements
- Master's Degree
- 3+ years of relevant experience for the Supervisor role
- 1+ years of relevant experience for the Intermediate Professional role
Qualifications
- A master's degree or higher in counselor education, college student personnel, sports management, social work, education, higher education administration, or related discipline

Salary & Benefits
