Student Assistant, Student Accessibility Services

About the role

Facilitates the completion of laboratory tasks for student(s) with disability. Must listen to and follow instructions to ensure work is completed and can be assessed based on the skills of the student being assisted, while maintaining necessary safety standards of the lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with disabilities in completing laboratory tasks.
• Follow instructions accurately to ensure work meets assessment criteria.
• Maintain lab safety standards.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of at least six credit hours at Tri‑C.
• Minimum GPA of 2.5.
• Enrolled for the Summer Semester and planning to register for Fall Semester at Tri‑C Main Campus.
• Maintain satisfactory academic progress.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule.
• Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail.
• Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population.
• Physical demands: work performed in a normal, professional office environment; adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated; may sit comfortably, perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard; may involve some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items; may require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to meetings/conferences away from the worksite.

Pay

$14.56 per hour (target salary).

Schedule

Hours based on department needs.
