Student Assistant, Student Accessibility Services

Department: Student Accessibility Services, Eastern Campus. Part-time, non-union support staff position with hours varying Monday through Friday based on need. Two openings available.

About the Role

Facilitates the completion of laboratory tasks for student(s) with disabilities. Must listen to and follow instructions to ensure work is completed and can be assessed based on the skills of the student being assisted. Maintains necessary safety standards of the lab environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (or equivalent)
• Completion of at least six credit hours at Tri-C
• Minimum GPA of 2.5
• Must be enrolled during Summer Semester and have plans to register for classes in Fall Semester at Tri-C
• Maintains satisfactory academic progress
• Ability to work a flexible schedule
• Ability to work accurately with great attention to detail
• Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population
• Must reside in the state of Ohio and be within commuting distance of the Eastern Campus

Physical Demands

The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment with adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation. Duties may include:

• Sitting comfortably to perform tasks, including repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard
• Occasional walking, standing, bending, and carrying light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, or books
• Walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings or conferences away from the worksite
