STUDENT ASSISTANT - RECREATION LIFEGUARD - KINESIOLOGY POOL
Position Summary
The purpose of this position is to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. This is accomplished by enforcing facility policies, rules and regulations. It is the responsibility of the lifeguard to inspect the aquatic facility for any unsafe conditions and equipment; and to inform management of any concerns. The lifeguard must test pool water before each shift to assure proper water quality.
Minimum Qualifications
- Current Del Mar College student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours while employed.
- Certification from the American Red Cross or Ellis and Associates for Lifeguarding / First Aid / CPR / AED.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Strong swimmer.
- Able to work in a team environment.
- Ability to remain calm in an emergency.
- Observant and able to identify risks and hazards around the pool deck and water.
