Responsibilities
- Complete all required Student Assistance Program training within mandated timeframes
- Act as a consultant with the school district and the SAP Core Team (trained administrators, teachers, guidance counselors, and others within each school building)
- Attend assigned SAP Core Team meetings, as scheduled, at least twice per month
- Administer the SAP Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths (CANS) screening, Columbia Suicide Screening, and CRAFFT screening (as needed) to identified students
- Implement and guide the development of the Student Plan that provides interventions and strategies to remove learning barriers and promotes student academic and personal success
- Put the Student Plan in action by linking student to appropriate services, treatment providers or community resources and monitor follow through of the plan
- Provide Postvention support services as needed
- Be flexible and responsive to the needs of the school and students
- Education and empower the family in decision making for their child
- Collect, report, and maintain data for required reporting
- Co-facilitate SAP groups for students related to behavioral health
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, drug and alcohol addiction or education
- Two (2) years paid experience working as a SAP liaison or in the behavioral health field
- Valid Driver’s License, vehicle registration, insurance and inspection
- Eligible for Act 33, 34 and FBI clearances
