About the role
The position is for a Middle School Academic and Support Personnel (SAP) who supports student academic and social/emotional needs.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming and positive climate and culture
- Provide academic, behavioral, health, and social-emotional support and interventions for students
- Participate in or lead teams to review individual student performance and behavior
- Maintain and monitor student academic and behavioral progress in collaboration with school staff
- Serve as a resource for drug and alcohol abuse and addiction, fostering connections with outside agencies and programs
- Implement and analyze universal screeners, student assessments, and progress monitoring data
- Contribute to intervention efforts as part of a problem-solving team
- Collect and analyze data based on student performance and plan interventions for struggling students
- Attend professional training sessions on identified topics to be used with students
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned by building administrator
Qualifications
- Master's degree in counseling or student support-related field preferred
- Evidence of successful experience working with middle school aged students preferred
- Successful experience working collaboratively with others
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated successful experience in providing research-based interventions in the affective and academic domains for struggling students
- Experience in the administration and interpretation of formal and informal assessments
- A passionate commitment to improving learning for all students
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal relationships

Conditions of Employment
- The work year, salary, and fringe benefits will be consistent with the current agreement between the Board of Education and the Livonia Education Association
- This position will remain open minimally through July 8, 2026 for consideration of employment for the 26-27 school year
