About the role
The University of Florida Levin College of Law seeks a Program Coordinator who will embrace an environment of innovation and contribute to the school's continued success. Reporting to the Assistant Dean for Student Life, the incumbent will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing student organization support, including their events and related processes. The Program Coordinator will advise and support student groups and special student populations as they organize, plan and execute large- and small-scale events and meetings, and will communicate with student leaders, student groups, and individuals to ensure they comply with all university and departmental policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Student Event Support and Execution
- Serve as the law school's primary student organization event liaison, including collaborations with Conferences & Events team, the IT team, the Messaging team, and others
- Work with student group leaders to coordinate all aspects of events hosted by student groups
- Coordinate appropriate room reservations and catering logistics
- Resolve conflicts between calendared events and student group events
- Relay information to student groups regarding resource allocation and alumni engagement
- Work with fellow team members as needed to resolve issues and respond to inquiries related to student group events, communications, and more
Student Organization Management
- Create and implement all aspects of supporting student organizations at the law school
- Coordinate official organization recognition processes
- Track officer rosters and provide officer transition support
- Plan and implement Organization Fairs for students
- Act as a resource and advisor to student leaders to help ensure positive organizational experiences
- Maintain a Student Organization Handbook and update it annually
- Assign student organization lockers annually
Assist the Assistant Dean for Student Life with the creation, organization, and implementation of student-facing events and other initiatives in furtherance of the Office of Student Life's mission and goals. All College of Law community members are expected to perform other duties as assigned in furtherance of our strategic goals.
Qualifications
Required
- Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in all Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with close attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a team environment with excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong emotional intelligence and listening skills, as evidenced by education, experience, or other professional development training
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to hold individual meetings, lead large group programs, and develop website and printed material for both students and faculty members
- Ability to use and refine electronic databases to monitor student progress
- Proven track record of creative problem-solving and success working in a team environment
Pay
Up to $65,000. Salary commensurate with experience.
