About the role

The Student Accounts Coordinator supports the full lifecycle of student financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and integrity of records, processing payments and refunds, reconciling financial transactions, coordinating collections activities, and serving as a key resource for student account questions.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students, parents, faculty, and staff with questions regarding student accounts, billing, payment options, and account services.
  • Process accounts receivable transactions and ensure accurate posting of payments.
  • Prepare account statements, student refunds, student payroll transactions, and related financial records.
  • Serve as a backup for Student Financial Services phone, email, and walk-in inquiries.
  • Verify, post, reconcile, and maintain student account data in University systems.
  • Cover collections activities in accordance with University policies and regulations.
  • Audit invoices, investigate discrepancies, and prepare reports as needed.
  • Invoice third-party sponsors, employers, and agencies for student-related charges.
  • Maintain compliance with FERPA and applicable federal, state, and University regulations.
  • Support departmental workflow coordination and process monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Required: Associate's degree with 12-15 credit hours of accounting coursework.
  • Knowledge of accounts receivable, cash handling, account reconciliation, and accounting principles.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial software systems.
  • Prior experience working with student information systems or higher education financial operations is preferred.
