What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating small-group phonics instruction for gifted K–2 learners, with each session designed from live student performance data rather than predetermined scripts
- Conducting running records, evaluating reading proficiency, and organizing your own differentiated teaching groups
- Delivering 1:1 and small-group coaching sessions that leverage school incentives, performance tracking, and individual rapport to inspire ambitious goals within adaptive platforms
- Monitoring live student advancement in adaptive software and adjusting teaching approaches as performance data shifts
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree in reading instruction OR formal reading certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent)
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Minimum 2 years delivering small-group early literacy instruction to K–2 learners
- Demonstrated ability assessing reading levels, creating instructional groupings, and building differentiated lessons independent of published curricula
- Direct experience teaching gifted or advanced students (gifted programs, academic enrichment camps, or specialized educational settings)
- Comfortable using AI-driven and adaptive learning systems and interpreting learner analytics
Nice-to-have Requirements
- Advanced Orton-Gillingham or multisensory structured literacy credentials beyond foundational certification
- Familiarity with adaptive literacy tools (e.g., Lexia, Raz-Kids, or comparable K–2 platforms)
- Proven success coaching learners performing well above expected grade-level standards
- Experience leveraging real-time data dashboards to inform daily teaching strategies
