Responsibilities
- Leading focused phonics workshops for gifted students in grades K–2, designing each session from student performance data rather than scripted materials
- Conducting running records, evaluating reading proficiency, and organizing differentiated instructional groups independently
- Delivering individual and small-group coaching sessions that use school incentives, leaderboards, and personal rapport to motivate ambitious goals in adaptive platforms
- Monitoring live student progress within adaptive learning systems and adjusting instruction as data patterns shift
Requirements
- Master's degree in reading instruction OR formal reading certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent).
- Completion of Science of Reading coursework alone does not satisfy this requirement.
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline.
- Minimum 2 years providing small-group early literacy instruction to students in grades K–2.
- Demonstrated ability to assess reading levels, form instructional groups, and create differentiated instruction independent of pre-packaged curriculum.
- Direct experience teaching gifted or high-achieving students (gifted & talented programs, academic enrichment camps, or specialized educational settings).
- Comfortable using AI-powered and adaptive learning technologies, with ability to analyze student performance metrics.
- Available to work on-site at the GT campus located in Georgetown (Austin), TX. Relocation assistance provided.
- Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
Qualifications
- Nice-to-have requirements include advanced Orton-Gillingham or multisensory structured literacy training exceeding foundational certification, familiarity with adaptive reading systems, proven success coaching students performing well above expected grade-level standards, and experience leveraging student data dashboards to inform real-time instructional adjustments.
