Literacy Coach, GT School - $100,000/year USD

What You Will Be Doing

• Leading small-group phonics instruction for gifted K–2 learners, designing every lesson from student performance data rather than scripted materials
• Conducting running records, evaluating reading levels, and organizing differentiated instructional groups based on your professional assessment
• Delivering 1:1 and small-group coaching sessions that use school currency, leaderboards, and relationship-building to motivate students toward ambitious goals in adaptive platforms
• Monitoring live student progress within adaptive learning tools and adjusting instruction immediately when data shifts

Basic Requirements

• Master's degree in reading instruction OR reading certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent)
• Bachelor's degree in any discipline
• 2+ years providing small-group early literacy instruction to K–2 learners
• Demonstrated ability to assess reading levels, establish instructional groups, and create differentiated instruction independent of pre-packaged curricula
• Direct experience teaching gifted or advanced-performing children (gifted & talented program, academic enrichment camp, or specialized educational setting)
• Comfortable using AI/adaptive learning platforms and interpreting student performance metrics
• Available to work on-site at the GT campus in Georgetown (Austin), TX. Relocation assistance provided
• Authorized to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

• Advanced Orton-Gillingham or multisensory structured literacy training beyond entry-level certification
• Familiarity with adaptive reading platforms (e.g., Lexia, Raz-Kids, or comparable K–2 tools)
• Proven success coaching students performing well above grade-level expectations
• Experience leveraging student data dashboards to inform daily instructional planning
