About the role
The position is located on-site at the GT campus in Georgetown (Austin), TX. Relocation assistance is provided.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating small-group phonics instruction for gifted K–2 learners, designing every lesson from live student assessment data rather than scripted materials
- Administering running records, evaluating reading proficiency, and organizing differentiated instructional groupings based on your analysis
- Delivering 1:1 and small-group coaching sessions that leverage school currency, leaderboards, and interpersonal rapport to inspire ambitious performance in adaptive platforms
- Monitoring live student advancement in adaptive learning systems and adjusting instruction dynamically as data patterns emerge
Requirements
- Master's degree in reading instruction OR formal reading certification (Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, CERI, LETRS, or equivalent)
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- Minimum 2 years delivering small-group early literacy instruction to K–2 students
- Demonstrated ability to assess reading levels, establish instructional groups, and create differentiated lessons independent of pre-packaged curricula
- Direct experience working with gifted or high-achieving children (gifted & talented programs, academic enrichment camps, or specialized schools)
- Comfortable using AI/adaptive learning platforms and interpreting student performance analytics
- Available to work on-site at the GT campus in Georgetown (Austin), TX
Qualifications
- Advanced Orton-Gillingham or multisensory structured literacy training beyond entry-level certification
- Hands-on experience with adaptive reading technologies (e.g., Lexia, Raz-Kids, or comparable K–2 platforms)
- Proven success coaching students performing markedly above grade-level expectations
- Familiarity with student data dashboards to inform real-time instructional adjustments
