Structured Cabling Laborer (Logistics Support) - New Mexico

Summary

Mortenson is seeking a Structured Cabling Logistics Installer for hyperscale data center projects. Responsibilities include material handling, installation, assembling and dismantling of low voltage carrier systems, preparing work areas, and cleaning of workspaces.

Responsibilities

- Assist with installation of structured cabling systems, including fiber optic and copper cabling - Support low voltage installation tasks such as cable pulling, routing, labeling, and basic terminations - Measure, cut, and bend wire and conduit utilizing various hand tools - Safely utilize hand and power tools after proper training (drills, crimpers, cutters, etc.) - Lift, position, and fasten objects as required for installation support - Operate the following equipment based on the requirements of the project: - Bobcat/Skid-steer - Forklift/Telehandler - Boom Lifts/Aerial Lifts - Prepare, handle, stage, and supply materials and tools to support electrical and cabling trades - Coordinate material deliveries and maintain organized material storage areas - Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment - Assist with assembling and dismantling low voltage carrier systems - Follow all safety procedures and work under immediate supervision according to standard instructions and established procedures - Effectively work and build relationships with team members of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels - Support general labor duties as needed to maintain project flow - Perform all other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Relevant experience preferred - Current driver’s license - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings, and procedure manuals; ability to work with tools, such as power and non-powered hand tools; ability to work with equipment, such as vibrators, pumps, drills and jackhammers, forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies - Willing and able to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions; ability to handle materials that can weigh up to 200 lbs; strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills - Detail oriented; active listening skills and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback - Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements - Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs. - Please note: this position description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
