Structural Welder

About the role
This position works both independently and as part of a team to fabricate components for refrigeration systems including skid frames, vessels, evaporators, and condensers. Reporting to shop leadership, this role guarantees consistent hours and offers opportunities for advancement.
Responsibilities
- Weld structural components such as skid frames, penthouse frames, dispersion tanks, condenser platforms, and pipe stands
- Weld other critical components related to compressors, vessels, evaporators, oil separators, and prefabricated assemblies
- Work closely with shop foremen and the VP of Manufacturing
- Assist with insulation, electrical, and painting tasks as needed
Requirements
- Welding school graduate and 1+ year of welding experience preferred (extensive experience considered in lieu of education)
- Ability to pass a 3G Stick Weld test (¼” plate, 37.5° bevel, open root, uphill progression)
- Ability to climb 40-foot ladders and work at heights in a safety harness
- Safe operation of scissor lifts, forklifts, boom lifts, lulls, and other industrial equipment
- Must be able to see and hear industrial equipment
- Capable of working independently for 10-12 hour shifts
- Must be able to lift 75 lbs frequently
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, kneel, and squat for extended periods
- Able to work in hot or cold shop environments with required PPE
- Pre-employment drug screening and background check required
- Familiarity with rigging, torch cutting, grinder and wire wheel operation, leveling, and use of measurement tools
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and up to 75 pounds occasionally
- Must have the physical stamina to perform repetitive motions and remain on feet for most of the shift
- Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination sufficient to operate tools accurately and safely
Schedule
- Daylight shift, Monday–Saturday (every other Saturday)
- Guaranteed 40–50 hours per week
- Off every Sunday
