Structural Engineering Intern

Internship Description

Day-to-day responsibilities include the development of detailed structural designs for a variety of projects including water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, lift stations, tanks, vaults, and other ancillary structures associated with water and sewer infrastructure projects. Develop finite element models to analyze various structures Develop a basic understanding of the water/wastewater treatment process and the importance of the role of structural engineers. Typical designs will include treatment process basins, chemical facilities, administration buildings, retaining walls, and other supporting structures. Prepare construction cost estimates Review construction submittals

Requirements

• Candidates must be pursuing a structural engineering major from an ABET accredited program
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Work Environment

This is an in-office position; duties and responsibilities are generally performed in an office setting. Occasional travel to offsite locations to perform work and work-related tasks or to attend meetings may be required.
