About the role

A full-time opening for a Senior Structural Engineer in Essex, Connecticut, Falmouth, Maine, or Pittsfield, Maine offices.

Responsibilities

  • Manage people, projects, and client relationships
  • Perform technical design for hydroelectric, fisheries, and water resources projects
  • Manage project teams including junior and senior-level staff, drafters, and project coordinators
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently
  • Technical leadership of internal teams across multiple disciplines
  • Mentor junior-level staff
  • Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction
  • Establish long-lasting relationships with clients to assist them in solving complex engineering work

Requirements

  • Licensed Professional Engineer with a BS in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 10 years' experience in structural engineering
  • Experience with hydroelectric design projects and fisheries related or water resource projects is a plus
  • Specialty experience within the structural engineering discipline, such as seismic design or finite element modeling, is also a plus
  • Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to the structural engineering discipline is required
  • Experience with analysis and design of concrete and steel structures in and around water, coordinating with hydrology/hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers, and structural modeling software (MathCAD, RISA-3D, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit)
  • Experience working in the field with clients and contractors during planning and construction of projects
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills to manage projects and clients
  • Familiarity with regulatory and permitting processes is a plus

Qualifications

  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States and able to acquire authorization to work in Canada
  • Willingness to travel and possess a valid driver's license
