About the role
This position provides an opportunity to be a part of a team working on the design and management of hydroelectric and fisheries related facilities, incorporating the skills of civil, structural, and hydraulic engineering projects.
Responsibilities
- Manage project teams that include junior and senior-level staff, drafters, and project coordinators
- Manage multiple projects concurrently
- Technical leadership of internal teams across multiple disciplines
- Overall project management and client coordination
- Mentor junior-level staff
- Work effectively with a multidisciplinary team while applying engineering skills from analysis and design through to construction
- Establish long-lasting relationships with clients to assist them in solving complex engineering work
Requirements
- Licensed Professional Engineer with a BS in Civil Engineering and a minimum of 10 years' experience in structural engineering
- Experience with hydroelectric design projects and fisheries related or water resource projects is a plus
- Specialty experience within the structural engineering discipline, such as seismic design or finite element modeling, is also a plus
- Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to the structural engineering discipline
- Experience with analysis and design of concrete and steel structures in and around water, coordinating with hydrology/hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and geotechnical engineers, and structural modeling software (MathCAD, RISA-3D, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit)
- Experience working in the field with clients and contractors during planning and construction of projects
- Excellent problem-solving skills, oral and written communication skills to manage projects and clients
- Familiarity with regulatory and permitting processes is a plus
Qualifications
- Permanent authorization to work in the United States and able to acquire authorization to work in Canada
- Willingness to travel and possession of a valid driver's license
Skills
Knowledgeable: Knowledge of standards and codes applicable to the structural engineering discipline is required. Pay
$112,000 to $170,000/year (based on experience)
