About the role
The Minnesota Health Department seeks a Student Worker Paraprofessional Senior to support the implementation and coordination of the Minnesota Stroke System of Care and the Paul Coverdell National Acute Stroke Program. The primary focus is to document the history and evolution of the stroke system of care, develop summaries and reports, and support quality improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support program staff in documenting the history and evolution of the stroke system of care, including key milestones, initiatives, and outcomes derived from Minnesota Stroke Registry data since program implementation.
- Develop summaries, reports, presentations, and success stories that communicate the evolution and impact of the stroke system of care.
- Provide coordination and administrative support for quality improvement activities, including meeting planning, tracking action items, maintaining records, and supporting communication with partners and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in a Master's or Doctorate level program focused on public health, nursing or allied health, social work, psychology or health related field.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 products and apps including excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word.
- Ability to organize, summarize, and communicate complex information in written and visual formats.
- Knowledge of quality and process improvement frameworks (i.e. Lean six sigma, PDSA cycles, or root-cause analysis).
Qualifications
- Minimum qualifications to be assessed at interview: Experience using Microsoft 365 products and apps including excel, Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word.
- Ability to organize, summarize, and communicate complex information in written and visual formats.
- Knowledge of quality and process improvement frameworks (i.e. Lean six sigma, PDSA cycles, or root-cause analysis).
Skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with community groups, advisory groups, academic institutions, healthcare providers, and partner organizations.
- Knowledge of stroke systems of care, healthcare quality improvement, public health systems, or chronic disease prevention initiatives.
- Experience working with healthcare registry data, public health data, or performance measurement systems.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

$19.85 - $23.61 / hourly
Schedule
Day Shift / 30 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
