Stroke Registered Nurse Coordinator
About the role
Supports the development, coordination, and maintenance of the quality of care continuum and evidence-based practice outcomes for stroke patients. Facilitates overall stroke program growth. The Stroke RN Coordinator coordinates and case manages the neurologic patient from the Emergency Room through Rehabilitation; provides patient education from admission to discharge, participates in stroke related community events, and supports group facilitation; demonstrates interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree (BSN) required. Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) will be considered if enrolled in a BSN program with degree completion within 2 years of date of hire or date of transfer to an RN position.
- Diploma or transcripts on highest degree earned required.
- EXPERIENCE/TRAINING: Minimum 3-5 years recent experience in the acute neurosciences/critical care/emergency department.
- LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Required: Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN); Current Basic Life Support Provider (BLS) issued by American Heart Association; Current National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification within 30 days of hire/transfer. Preferred: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Provider (ACLS) issued by American Heart Association RN Specialty Certification.
