Registered Nurse Stroke Program Coordinator

About the role

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and lead all activities associated with the Stroke Program
• Actively participate in performance improvement data collection, activities, and functions to promote an integrated program in Stroke Programs, which ensures the provision of the highest quality of healthcare
• Assist with the development and implementation of initiatives, policies and procedures, including staff education activities related to stroke care
• Evaluate Stroke Program through the use of data capture, follow-up and trend analysis and presents findings to appropriate committees
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team on problem identification and resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services and systems/performance measures for both the Risk and Stroke Programs

Qualifications

• BSN required, Masters (APN) preferred
• Current state licensure as an RN or APN
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Five years clinical and/or management experience in a multidisciplinary health care setting which includes a minimum of two years of inpatient experience preferred
• After 6 months, knowledge in the care of stroke patients using the American Stroke Association Guidelines is required
• Knowledgeable on current State Laws and Regulations as applicable to facility and Stroke program
• Computer proficiency in Windows applications is required (especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint); strong working knowledge in data management, data analysis and quality improvement processes are required
• Proficiency in Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) and core clinical systems are required

Pay

Central Maine Healthcare Corporation offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $36.00 to $52.14. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
